John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people with his songs. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in the love of Colorado and later settled in Aspen. Many people beat a path through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular songs for his home state. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver was by far one of the most well-known performers who embodies Colorado. Denver is the Hall of Fame's inaugural inductee was recognized with the award in the year 2011. For many, Denver is the image of Colorado. People you meet in other countries, like New Zealanders and ask them "I am from Colorado" then they respond with "Oh John Denver. Brown said. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short time in folk groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff created the track with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that the song could be a hit single. The singer recorded the song within a couple of days following a performance to an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
