Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington located in Ohio dropped out of high school in order to move to Los Angeles after her divorced parents. However, in 2001, despite difficulties with money she managed to secure her first big part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room as the main character. Following her win of an Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role in Murder in Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. Grace returned to the character as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the 6th season. She portrays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars, who catches the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she is the daughter and elder sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was a young teenager when she appeared in small parts in a few films directed by her father. In addition, she was a part of her brother on the 2001 cult movie Donnie Darko. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her lead performances in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama), and Sherrybaby (606), both of which garnered her Golden Globe Award nods. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In 2009, she received a nomination for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mother in Crazy Heart. Following that, she went on to appear in comedy films as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (12). The actress also was an Secret Service Agent in White House Down, an action thriller from 2013, she was a musician in Frank (2014), and The lead on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama that was released in the year of 2018. Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
